A bit of history....
Growing up I was Lisa Cline. (and yes, I still have the little rocking chair, it's on display at the shop) If you're a local, you may have known my parents, James 'Dodge' and Marie Cline. A few years ago, I changed my name to my mother's maiden name of Fletcher. I was raised in East Tennessee (Butler and Hampton area) and then after college moved to Seattle WA. I lived there for over 20 years and worked in the insurance and financial industry. It was a good life and I enjoyed the area. However, coming back to Tennessee in 2014 for a family visit had me noticing with fresh eyes how beautiful the area is, how friendly the people are, and how special the culture of the Appalachian Mountains truly is. I tried to settle back into my life in Washington State, but something wouldn't let me. As you get older, you realize life is too short to put off what you really want to do. I see now that God had wonderful plans already in motion that I could never have suspected.
As a kid, I was enamored with the old downtown Elizabethton. I would dream of having a business on that wonderful East Elk Avenue, just down the street from the covered bridge. Sewing, quilting and crafting have long been my passions. Often I would use vacation days from the office to just stay home and sew. (a sewing machine, and old movie going, lots of coffee and chocolate....that's heaven!) Having a shop that focuses on sewing, quilting and local made goods on this historic street is my dream come true.
